Harmonizing with the Seasons

Blog Post - Harmonizing with the Seasons

As we move into the new season, marked by the September equinox, our energies shift. Whether we live in the northern hemisphere and are moving into autumn, or the southern hemisphere and are moving into spring, these shifts in the season mark a shift in how we relate to our homes and our surrounding environments.

Our homes either create a bridge that connect us to nature or a wall that separates us from it. Living in harmony with nature provides deeper connection to our souls, relaxation and peace. Scientists have made the connection between our connection to nature and how we can promote relaxation. The sound of birds singing, for example, relaxes us. It is something that has transferred to us from our ancestors. They knew that when the birds were singing, it was a sign that all was well – the birds felt safe, so it was a sign for them to be safe.

Creating Intentional Change with Feng Shui

Blog Post - Creating Intentional Change with Feng Shui

Change is inevitable. Everything, including us, is always in motion, shifting, moving, evolving. Through our thoughts, actions, and emotions, we are different at the end of the day than when we woke up in the morning. Even in change, though, we have choice. Our choices can guide and shape the change that occurs in our lives. What kind of choices do we make?

I remember a time when I felt constrained and had to make choices, either based on what I thought was best for a collective or based on a previous decision. Then, a friend mentioned a quote to me that basically said that just because I bought a ticket to the show doesn’t mean that I have to stay for the entire show, if I am not enjoying it.

Does the Energy of Your Home Attract Abundance?

Does the Energy of Your Home Attract Abundance?

“What is the connection between clutter and abundance?” you may wonder.  Well, think of what clutter does. Imagine seeing water flowing freely in a stream, then getting backed up because there are too many dead leaves or stones in the way. That is what clutter does to the flow of abundance in your life. It stops the flow, clogs the passages, and keeps you stuck.

Living with and in abundance means that you have what you need, and what you desire comes into your life easily. Abundance can manifest in your life in many ways, including abundance of time, money, relationships, clarity, joy, ideas, or anything else you can imagine. How does your day flow? How do events and experiences in your life flow? My hope is that all things flow with grace and ease. In order to achieve this, let’s examine how your home is arranged and what you have chosen to keep in the sacred space of your home.

Recognizing and Releasing Invisible Clutter

Declutter your mind for clarity, peace, focus and balance – handwriting on a napkin with a cup of espresso coffee

Oftentimes, when people talk about clutter clearing, they often talk about the things (objects) that are cluttering their lives. Whether they have clothes they don’t wear, a kitchen full of fancy gadgets they never use, or piles of magazines that you never read, these things are more easily seen and identified as clutter.

Clutter also includes mental and emotional blocks. For example, how often is your day too full – where you have so many activities to do that they can’t possibly be done? Then, when the activities are not complete, guilt and negative self-talk result. When was the last time that you looked at your to-do list and released some of the activities and responsibilities that do not bring you joy or do not bring you closer to living your ideal life?

Creating Magical Days: Arranging Your Space to Bolster Your Desires

Creating Magical Days: Arranging Your Space to Bolster Your Desires

Have you ever felt out-of-sorts, then walked into a room where you immediately felt your mood lift? It could’ve been the lighting, colors, or even the music playing in the space.

Every space holds an energy or mood that can be easily changed by making changes in the arrangement of furnishings, colors, lighting, scents and/or sounds.  And the energy of the space can support or diminish our own energy, as we are constantly interacting with the spaces in which we live, work and travel through.

Creating Magical Days: Setting Intentions

What is an Intention? According to Merriam-Webster, one definition of an intention is “what one intends to do or bring about.”

In the past, when I woke up in the morning, my first thoughts revolved around what I didn’t want to do. I didn’t want to go to work.I didn’t want to spend hours commuting. What I did not do is set an intention about what I DID want to experience that day! And I learned that what I focused on, especially at that time, set the tone for my entire day (which was certainly not as magical as it could have been). How I Was Drawn to Interior Alignment® Feng Shui and Space Clearing

I discovered the existence of the International Institute of Interior Alignment® more than ten years ago now…

I had always had an interest in moving and shifting household items.I found great joy in shifting the furniture in my room, painting my room, and creating floor plans and miniature doll houses, complete with furniture that I made and wallpaper. I never knew there was a thing called Feng Shui growing up.

Then, about ten years ago, I expressed an interest in finding something new. A friend suggested that I make a list of all the things I enjoy doing, and I’ll find what I’m meant to be doing. My list included things like interior design, astrology, color, photography, numerology, energy work, meditation, yoga, and some other things. I really didn’t think I would find anything that encompassed any of all these things.
